The song made its debut on Radio Disney on May 7, and proceeded to be released on Facebook during a live webcast. It was released on iTunes on May 12, 2009.

“Sugar” is the second single from Flo Rida’s sophomore album R.O.O.T.S. It features R&B singer Wynter Gordon.

It debuted on the UK Singles Chart at #35 from album downloads alone and has made it to #22 since then.

The video was filmed on April 10, 2009 on South Beach. It shows a female doctor putting Flo Rida to sleep, causing him to fantasize about a girl he likes, who ended up disappearing. In the end, Flo Rida wakes up from treatment and ends up being seduced by the female doctor.
